Which cities only allow their own hauler?
Ten DFW cities limit roll-off service to the city or one contractor. Ordering a bin from another company there can bring fines or removal, so we tell you up front and point you to the right hauler.
- Frisco: Frisco requires temporary construction roll-offs to be serviced by its contractor, Waste Connections, scheduled through the city; other haulers' equipment is not permitted and can be fined. Source: City of Frisco
- Allen: Allen says roll-offs for construction, renovation, demolition or cleanouts must be ordered through Community Waste Disposal; other companies are prohibited by ordinance. Source: City of Allen
- McKinney: McKinney's designated solid waste contractor is Frontier Waste Solutions; private haulers may serve builders only for recyclables (Sec. 86-35). Source: City of McKinney
- Mesquite: Mesquite is the only provider of trash hauling for homes and businesses (Code Sec. 14-51) and rents its own 20, 30 and 40-yard roll-offs. Source: City of Mesquite
- Denton: The City of Denton is the exclusive provider of solid waste collection, including mixed construction debris (Code Ch. 24); private haulers may only collect separated recyclables. Source: City of Denton
- The Colony: The Colony has an exclusive franchise with Republic Services; the city says a non-Republic roll-off violates city ordinance. Source: City of The Colony
- Coppell: Coppell has an exclusive solid waste franchise with Republic Services and directs residents to Republic for roll-offs, which need a free 30-day city permit. Source: City of Coppell
- Mansfield: Mansfield bars collecting refuse without a city contract or franchise (Sec. 50.03), and commercial construction roll-offs must come from a franchised vendor. Source: city code (American Legal)
- Southlake: Southlake directs construction-site dumpsters to Community Waste Disposal; other vendors only through city licensing agreements. Source: City of Southlake
- Greenville: Greenville contracts all roll-off service in city limits to one company, and a 2023 ordinance lets the city impound unauthorized roll-offs. Source: KETR public radio
